Title*Block 17-Broken Heart

Content*My block came out just shy of 9.5 inches square? I might re-do this but at a later date…now on to the next block. :-)

  1. I have discovered that if it is less than a quarter inch on a block that size, you can fudge it abit by stretching it when attaching to the next block by pinning the corners first.

    • And then put 20 pins in to the other block to absorb the fullness with out puckering.

  2. if it’s “just shy,” it can be worked into setting. Just make certain you check your printer. Until this project, I never knew how important those settings could be. If a DJ block was less than 4.5 inches when printed, I just copied it and increased the percentage to make it 4.5. I had no clue it was all in printer, and now we learn that the browser can affect the printing. Glad you are forging ahead!

  3. My large block from the February 1 unit came out shy too!! aaargh … I know it wasn’t a printer error – it was human error!! But I am good at ‘fudging’ it to size with the surrounding blocks!! ha ha

  4. Thank’s all of you, for all the suggestions! I think the pattern was printed to correct size as the little square on the bottom of the pattern came out 1 inch square. When I began my sewing, I took my time and sewed on the line…so I’m not sure what happened :-/ Happy sewing! :-)
